Combination blades can perform both functions on smaller jobs. Blade wear and correct adjustment directly affect surface quality, so regular inspection is necessary.Proper timing is critical in power trowel operation. If the machine is applied too early, it can tear the surface and cause waves or bring excess paste to the top. If it is used too late, the concrete may be too hard for effective finishing, leading to burn marks, poor flatness, or the need for excessive blade pressure.
